I decided to join in on the wallwisher fad. I think this could work well as a forum for students to link to their assignments (such as ones made in VoiceThread) so I can find them easily. Likewise, I can post reminders and answer questions on the wall. Any way we can section off the wall?

Not to worry! I would not have done any better using prezi. It’s rather new to us all.
In reply to - Tian X posted an update in the group Group 6: Dear Tara and Daniel, I feel very bad about today’s presentation. You guys made efforts to interpret the article, while I did a bad job controllng the mouse during the presentation. I am very sorry! And, thank you for your tolerance! -Tian · View -

That’s impossibly high.

Bridget also highlighted Smart Boards (one word? Two?).
Also, her group members were in agreement: They all dislike online reading. It’s hard on the eyes, and it’s at the mercy of technological mishaps.
On to the next group.
Tara raised the point about how overwhelming it can be to check different sites for different classes. Perhaps teachers could coordinate?
And finally …
Jake spoke to the fun factor of the whole technology thing. It made classwork enjoyable and focused attention. On the other hand, the technology can be scarce but the demand extensive.

Ah, the Smart Board. Nicole highlighted the advantages of this technology regarding classroom management. The teacher can wander through the classroom, all the while writing on the board.

Brittany’s group members were not big fans of the teachers who read directly off their PowerPoints. It led to boredom. Also, other times teachers just cannot get the technology to work properly. That is a bummer for the teacher and a nuisance for students, too.

Eve shared (or will share) a secondhand story about a teacher who gave a PowerPoint presentation that illustrated all the ways in which the program should not be used: lots of sounds, effects, useless information.

To start with the poor: Any time I see a flying entrance of a line of text in PowerPoint – accented with the sound of an explosion – I cringe and instantly lose respect for the teacher.
But the good: I have seen excellently designed PowerPoints that are used as guides, highlighting key points, which are then expounded upon by the instructor. Each slide is discussed, and they flow well together.
